Job description

Duty Station: Zonal Office

Duration: 1-year contract (renewable subject to performance and funding availability)

Introduction:

Ministry of Health through Global Fund Cycle 7 (GFC7) Grant support, implements essential TB/HIV Community based Program (Oct 2025 – Dec 2026) in support of the national effort to sustain and expand community HIV and TB services. The GFC7 community-based program is implemented in collaboration with Lead CSO – Christian Social Services Commission (CSSC) and four Sub-sub recipients (TAYOA, NACOPHA, MKUTA and STEPS). The GFC7 program focuses on the provision of Community based TB/HIV services across 184 councils. It prioritizes peer-led service delivery, integration with Local Government Authorities. 

 

Job Summary:

 

The Driver will perform duties of driving Project vehicle to assure safe transportation of authorized personnel and/or equipment/supplies from various destinations. S/he has to make sure the vehicles kept safe and secured.

 

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

 

1.     Providing periodic usage report of vehicle including total mileage, fuel consumption and expenditure.

2.     Follow and abide by the traffic rules, regulations, driver safety manual and any other instructions given by Supervisor or management.

3.     Ensure the filling of log book for each travel allocated.

4.     Handle transport of all staff, visitor and equipment/materials.

5.     Maintain vehicles including fuel, lubrication, and oil, interior and exterior.

6.     Prepare mileage and fuel consumption.

7.     Report and supervise all maintenance and repair needs of assigned vehicle.

8.     Maintain vehicle first aid kit, communication equipment and fire extinguisher.

9.     Any other duties assigned by supervisors

 

Qualifications & Experience:

1.     Certificate of Secondary Education or Driving Certificate from a Reputable Driving College.

2.     Certificate of Advanced Driving Course from NIT or VETA.

3.     Driving License class B,C, D, and E

4.     At least three (3) years of work experience as a driver, with International Organizations or Local NGO.

5.     Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and the ability to perform routine checks (e.g., oil changes, tire rotations) can be valuable.

6.     The ability to adapt to different weather conditions, traffic situations, and road environments is important.

7.     Aware of and follow all road safety regulations and protocols.
